FAQ2: Which tape was used to record the samples? - SONY HF60 was used, which I beleived was manufactured anywhere between the mid 80s up until 2015 (The date of manufacture isn't written on the package, so I don't know the exact year).

Taped Drum Kits (TDK): 191 Analog Drum Samples

Extra warm, crispy, punchy

I obsess over the subtle nuances that make sounds truly inspiring. For TDK, I put my beloved 1984 SONY TC-FX220 cassette deck to work, capturing the raw essence of my favorite drum machines and grooveboxes directly onto tape.

What's Inside?

This pack is a labor of love, designed to deliver drums with an organic feel and soulful texture you can only get from true analog saturation. You'll find:

• 16 Kicks: Deep, warm, and punchy, from subtle thumps to driving lows.
• 40 Snares: Crispy cracks, full-bodied thwacks, and versatile hits with character.
• 26 Claps: Distinctive, layered, and saturated claps for a vintage vibe.
• 13 Cymbals: Rich crashes and shimmering rides, given new life through tape.
• 17 Closed Hi-Hats: Tight, crisp, and textured for precise rhythms.
• 14 Open Hi-Hats: Airy, expansive, and with that beautiful tape decay.
• 65 Percussion: A diverse array of unique percs, clicks, and hits, perfect for adding intricate detail and groove.

The "Tape Alchemy" Process

I'm a firm believer in using the right tools to achieve a specific sound. While I love the cassette simulator on my SP-404MK2 and various tape emulation plugins, sometimes, I just want the real thing.

Every sound in TDK has been recorded through my SONY TC-FX220, then meticulously sculpted and cleaned in my DAW to ensure they are mix-ready. Finally, they've been processed with the unique effects of the SP-404MK2 to give them even more personality. The result? Drums that are impactful, inspiring, and instantly usable in your tracks.

• Korg Volca Drum (custom sounds I designed from scratch)

• Behringer RD-6 (added a bit of distortion in the box)
